Located to the north-east of the floor by the entrance, which they flank with the Phoenix as the Left and Right hand of the Emperor, the Ki-rin have been given a spacious room. As the Ki-rin are often associated with the winds, various wind-chimes and similar decorations have been placed near the openings to the balcony and windows, and give off pleasant sounds when stirred. The colors of the room are bright, and the wooden floors have rugs woven with nature motifs.

The main room of the Ki-rin's quarters is meant for social gatherings or studies, with a low circular table that can be used for reading, writing, or simply sharing a meal. Several cushions are available to sit, all lovingly embroidered with various creatures that represent good luck, such as the fabled ki-rin from which the clan take their name, crickets, frogs, and carps. Off to the sides are two rooms; the first one is a small office, meant to be used by any visiting Ki-rin representative for matters of state, though it is available for anyone to use now.

The second room is for sleeping. Comfortable mats are rolled out for the guests to sleep on, and paper-screens can be placed between the areas to offer a modicum of privacy. Each guest is offered wooden chests to store their belongings in while visiting. In this room there is also a hearth to light for warmth when it gets cold.
