As Doji had a hand in much of the interior design of the Imperial Palace, it is little surprise that the Crane guest rooms are the most extravagant. Perhaps also because she is among the more frequent visitors among the divine siblings, along with Shinjo and Shiba.

The rooms for the guests of the Crane Clan is located to the south-west on the floor, and their view from their side of the balcony looks down to the approach leading up to the High House of Light. The area is divided into three rooms separated by curtains made of beads and silk, with the first one being a large open room that can be used for socializing, entertainment, or merely eating one's meals. It is supplied with low tables and cushions that can easily be moved to the side if one wishes to use the space for dancing or anything else. The room is otherwise decorated with glazed pottery and ornate lanterns.

Leading to the second room by a couple of short stairs is the sleeping area where sleeping mats can be rolled out, and the area can be separated by moveable screens painted with seasonal motifs to provide privacy for the guests. It also has a small hearth to provide warmth in the colder months. A couple of wooden wardrobes offers a place for visitors to store their belongings.

Lastly is a small room set aside for tea ceremony, decorated with scrolls of poetry written by Lady Doji herself, and small trees that have been well-maintained to stay at a smaller size to fit into fine pots. The tea set in this room is available for use by the visitors and was left her for that purpose by Doji during one of her visits. Tea can be requested if needed, although the monks offer only a simple blend.
